Bodily autonomy and mental wellbeing – big fan!

About

I’m Emma Chan, a doctor in mental health, Relationships & Sexuality Education (RSE) practitioner and non-fiction author. I like to think, talk and write about minds, bodies and relationships.

I’ve spoken about these topics in a wide range of spaces – from appearing as a witness on BBC Radio’s Moral Maze to regularly facilitating RSE workshops for students in schools.

I’m a co-author of the School of Sexuality Education’s book, Sex Education: An Inclusive Teenage Guide to Sex and Relationships (Walker, 2021). My first solo book, Heads Up! A Parent’s Guide to Supporting Young People’s Mental Health and Wellbeing (Speechmark, 2026) was published in June 2026.
